- What is included in commissioning? Installation without operator training is just assembly. Real commissioning includes process optimization, raw material testing, and production of first batches to specification.
- How do you handle spare parts and blade resharpening? Crushing blades dull. Screens wear. If the supplier cannot guarantee spare parts delivery or local grinding support, your line will stop while you wait.
- Can you help with waste material sourcing or product offtake? Some manufacturers go further than equipment. They help customers purchase scrap cable, used lead acid batteries, or PCB scrap. They also help sell the output: copper rice, lead ingots, or aluminum granules. This is not standard. It is a competitive advantage.
- What is your experience with EPC projects? Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) means the supplier designs the plant layout, selects the machinery, manages installation, and delivers a running facility. A supplier with a master's-level mechanical engineering team and 15+ years of e-waste recycling experience can customize designs for local voltage, environmental rules, and building constraints. A trader cannot.
A buyer who sources a shredder from one factory, a granulator from another, and a dust collector from a third often discovers that the interfaces do not match, the capacities are unbalanced, and nobody takes responsibility when the line underperforms.
A turnkey EPC supplier designs the entire flow: feed rate, power load, material balance, emission points, and operator access. They choose the right furnace for your lead paste, the right separator for your cable mix, and the right dust control for your circuit boards. They also handle layout design, civil works guidance, and utility connections.
The result is a plant that starts on schedule, reaches design capacity faster, and stays inside environmental limits.
The most common mistake is treating recycling equipment like a commodity. Buyers compare quotations line by line, award the order to the lowest bidder, and then spend a year solving problems that a competent supplier would have prevented in the design phase.
The right supplier asks about your raw material composition, your local environmental law, your available utilities, and your target products before quoting a price. The wrong supplier sends a price list.
